Ladysmith mayor and council get raises

Ladysmith’s Mayor and Council are getting raises…

The Town’s political leaders will be getting a bump in their pay after a motion was presented and passed at a recent council meeting.

Mayor Aaron Stone says although the idea may seem controversial to some…there is more to municipal politics than meets the eye.

Stone says the positions in Ladysmith were lacking in comparison to the rest of the province after taking a look at similar municipalities.

The recommended compensation rate for the mayor is $30,515 while councillors are up for $14,475.
