The CVRD’s application for money from the Feds to raise the weir at Lake Cowichan has been denied.
The money would have been used to pay for one third of a multi-million dollar project that would help with growing local drought issues.
Cowichan-Malahat-Langford MP Alistair MacGregor says raising the weir is only viable long-term solution..
MacGregor says he will continue to work with the CVRD and other local governments to push the Liberals to include the project in the infrastructure budget.
