Premier ranks number one

Our premier is getting top marks for having the best record at managing provincial finances.
That’s according to the Fraser Institute which ranked premiers based on three fiscal policy categories.
Premiers who managed spending more prudently, balanced their books and paid down debt, and reduced or maintained competitive tax rates ranked highest.

Overall, Christy Clark ranked first in fiscal performance , followed closely by Phillipe Couillard, Quebec’s premier and and Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall.

In specific categories, in the government spending Clark ranked 3rd, on taxes she ranked 6th and in the deficits and debt category, Clark ranked second.
