The Cowichan Valley Regional District is moving to make it clear it opposes LNG projects on the coast.
The Board has voted unanimously to oppose a proposal to build a facility in the Mill Bay area or anywhere in its District.
The Cowichan Bay regional director, Lori Lannidinardo (ywan-ee-dan-ar-doh)says she was at the announcement where the Malahat Nation and Vancouver-based Steelhead LNG laid out plans to develop an LNG facility.
She says with all the work people are doing to clean up the foreshore the proposal is just wrong…..
Lannidinardo says it’s important for the region to get out front on the issue.
