Nestlé Canada is recalling some infant formula.
The formula, Nestlé Good Start 2 Concentrate Omega Infant Formula, is packaged in a tetra box and has 4 specific batch codes.
Nestlé Canada says the issue is one of quality.
The minerals in the formula may separate over time and appear as black particles in the concentrate.
Consumption of the affected product could lead to a lower intake of some nutrients.
The lots affected are 512857211A, 512957211A, 512957212A, 513057211A – all 359ml boxes.
In an unrelated recall, Health Canada is informing Canadians that Pfizer Consumer Healthcare has initiated a voluntary recall of numerous lots of Advil liquid products for infants and children because of a potential risk of inconsistences in dosing of the product.
Clumps of Ibuprofen may form in the bottle and lead to higher or lower doses that are given to infants and children if it is not shaken well before each use.
As a precaution, Health Canada is recommending that consumers stop using the products and return them to a pharmacy.
