Police arrest man following a trio of suspicious fires

A 54 year old man has been arrested in connection with suspicious fires at the Cedar Memorial Gardens in Cedar, the A&W Husky on Highway 1 and a grader in Ladysmith.

The spree all started around 10:15 Sunday night when police were called to a report of a break and enter to the Cedar Memorial Gardens.

Upon arrival, the building was fully engulfed in flames.
Cedar Volunteer fire crews were on scene and eventually contained the fire although there was extensive damage to the building.
While investigating the fire, Ladysmith RCMP were called to two other suspicious fires, a structure fire at 11:20 at the A&W Husky on Highway 1, just north of Ladysmith and at 12:20, a small fire to a grader located on a property off Breton Page Road.
Minimal fire damage was reported at the A&W however, damage to the grader is estimated to be in the range of 28 thousand dollars.
