The scam is a common one in which a fraudster phones a resident and claims to be from the Canada Revenue Agency.
Sunshine Coast RCMP say the fraudsters are now using internet phone technology to have any number they choose to show up on a call display.

RCMP are asking people to warn their friends, family and particularly elderly people in their life, so that they do not fall victim to this scam.
