A Cowichan Valley based charity is celebrating 30 years in the community this week.
Jennifer Barnes van Elk, with the Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association says the AGM is scheduled for Thursday evening and will feature a couple of panelists who will speak about planned giving.
Barnes van Elk says donations are a big part of the operations at the centre which offers therapeutic riding and equine based therapeutic services for persons with disabilities.
The association started out modestly in 1986 as a local chapter of the Pacific Riding for the Disabled and at the time therapeutic riding was relatively new to Canada.
