Weather wreaks havoc

BC Hydro continues to work on restoring power around the Island as a result of the nasty weather overnight.
At one point more than one hundred thousand households were without power including ten thousand on Vancouver Island as 60 to 80 kilometer an hour wind whipped trees around.
As a result of all the rain we have been having, there is some localized flooding on the highways and side roads.
Cowichan Bay Road is closed again between Wessex and Wilmont Roads.
It’s due to a mudslide.
Anyone heading out on a ferry should probably check the BC Ferries site to make sure the vessel is on time.
Some ferries have been delayed or outright cancelled as a result of the wind conditions.
