In Bloom Wildflower Festival

Whether you’re interested in birds and bees, beautiful wildflowers, scientific research, wetland bugs or nature inspired art, the 10th Annual In Bloom Wildflower festival is the place to be.

The Nature Conservancy of Canada is opening the gates to the Cowichan Garry Oak Preserve Saturday for their annual event. Senior Restoration Technician Irvin Bantam say the preserve has a breathtaking view.

There will also be hayrides, face painting and nature crafts for the kids.

The event takes place tomorrow from 10am to 2pm – Admission is by donation.

The Preserve is not usually open to the public, but if you can’t get enough, Bantam says volunteering is a great option. Every Wednesday from 9am to 12pm, there is drop-in volunteering, and you can help with the daily maintenance of the area. All ages are welcome.
