Bran Clarkson of Mill Bay was one of the 88,000 people that were evacuated in Fort McMurray due to the massive wildfires that continue to destroy the city.
Clarkson has been working and living part time in Fort McMurray for over a decade. He left work early on Tuesday, hoping to grab some things from his home before catching a flight to the Island later that evening. By the time he left work at 2pm, his neighbourhood had already been evacuated and blocked off. Clarkson describes his drive to the airport on Tuesday during the city evacuation.
At the time, Clarkson says he had no idea what would become of his home in Gregoire. He shares more on his surroundings.
Clarkson says to his knowledge, his home has not been affected by the fire. He says the support that has come in for Fort McMurray from across the country is overwhelming.
