2016 Kids Learn to Fish

Today is the 10th Annual Kids Learn to Fish Day at Chemainus Lake Park.
Kids of all ages can come down and learn about the sport of fishing, from how to catch the fish, how to clean the fish, and how to be a responsible fisher and be environmentally aware.
Event Coordinator Sam McCreath says the joy on a child’s face when they catch their first fish makes it all worth it.
The Cowichan Fly Fishers Association and the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC are hosting the event Saturday May 7th from 10am to 2pm at Chemainus Lake Park.
The event is known to have brought over 250 children from 3 to 15 years old. A free lunch will also be provided to the kids.
