The Cowichan Valley Regional District and the Lake Cowichan First Nations are opening up channels for communication and collaboration in the future.
CVRD Board Chair Jon Lefebure says they have just signed an inaugural protocol framework agreement.
Lefebure says they hope to eventually have First Nations members sit on the board, and this is one of the first steps toward that goal.
