Televisions, computers, electronic toys, and music equipment are now accepted at the CVRD Recycling Centres in Ladysmith and Duncan.
The CVRD is partnering with Island Return it to accept these items and keep them out of landfills. Recycling and Waste Management Superintendent with the CVRD Jason Adair says there are so many benefits to these programs.
The Cowichan Valley has the highest recycling diversion rate in all of BC. The CVRD already offers recycling for outdoor power equipment, power tools and small appliances as well.
These new items will also be accepted at the Lake Cowichan Recycling Centre after construction there is completed.
