Funding for school upgrades available
Schools across BC will be receiving some infrastructure upgrades. The province is providing funding for over 80 projects at different schools across 60 districts in British Columbia.
Education Minister Mike Bernier says this is a win for teachers, staff and students in schools.
Bernier says the funding is available because of the strong economy in British Columbia, and it will help upgrade heating systems as well as roof replacements at schools across the province.
The funding comes from the “School Enhancement Program”.
In the Cowichan Valley, just one school is slated for upgrades:
SD79 – Cowichan
- Palsson Elementary School (Lake Cowichan) – $200,000 for Phase 1: upgrades to envelope efficiency
