Five Valley Fire Departments are coming together to help raise money for Fort McMurray after the devastation caused by wildfires in their city.
The event takes place at the Valleyview Centre Country Grocer on Saturday – where you can get a hotdog and a car wash by donation. Steve McCaffrey with the Cowichan Bay Fire Department says its a devastating time for those in Fort Mac, and hits close to home.
Fire Departments in Cowichan Bay, Mill Bay, Malahat, Shawnigan Lake and Duncan are putting on this fundraiser sponsored by Country Grocer and CarStar Duncan Isherwood. Both sponsors will be matching money raised at the fundraiser as well.
The event goes from 10 to 4 on Saturday.
