The Tourism Cowichan Society is looking to have a hotel tax implemented in the Cowichan Valley.
The money raised from the tax would help pay for destination marketing.
Many other jurisdictions on Vancouver Island already have hotel tax policies in place to assist their local tourism initiatives.
The society will be hosting a number of meetings over the next nine months or so and all stakeholders in the valley’s tourism will be invited to attend.
