New Childcare Spaces in Duncan
The Cowichan Station Area Association is receiving over $23 thousand from the BC government to create up to 32 child care spaces at a new combined daycare/preschool facility, with a projected opening date this September.
President of the Association Jill Thompson shares what this funding, along with additional federal funding through the Canada 150 grant, will provide.
Thompson says the new facility and additional childcare spaces in the community will make life easier for the rural community and commuters.
The Child Care Major Capital Funding Program is providing 1818 new spaces across the province with $11.3 million in funding.
Duncan is getting more than $201-thousand for 80 new spaces. Other recipients are the Cowichan Intercultural Society and The Cowichan Tribes.
