Politicians head home from FCM Convention

More than 1,500 municipal leaders were in Winnipeg over the last couple of days at Canada’s largest municipal-federal conference.
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference and trade show showcased how the municipal sector is helping to shape our country’s future.
A keynote speaker was Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

On tap was a discussion on the federal budget and how the next phase of funding will be delivered to municipalities.

Delegates could also attend workshops dealing with asset management, rapid transit, downtown development and rejuvenation, heritage building conservation, garbage and recycling, water treatment, Indigenous partnerships and reconciliation, and disaster-proofing communities.
