Thieves in Chemainus Caught Red-Handed

A group of thieves were caught red-handed thanks to the watchful eye of a caring neighbour.
At about 4am Wednesday morning, a Chemainus resident observed a vehicle parked with a male inside, and a female walking up and down looking into driveways. A third male was then seen loading things into the vehicle from driveways. Cowichan Duncan RCMP responded to the call, and the three suspects were arrested. Corporal Krista Hobday says its a true testament to looking out for our neighbours.
A 20 year old female from Chemainus, a 32 year old Cobble Hill man and Designated Prolific Offender, 31 year old Steven Sharonowski, was released on conditions.
All three will appear in court at a later date facing multiple counts of break and enter, as well as possession of property obtained by crime.
