Body of Teen Recovered Near Malibu Rapids

A sad outcome to the search for a teen who fell into water near the Malibu Rapids on Wednesday.
RCMP divers on the Sunshine Coast recovered the body of the 16 year old who had been the subject of an extensive search.
After making the discovery with Sonar, the team had to wait for slack tide at the narrows before recovering the body late in the day. The BC Coroner’s Service was also notified to attend.
Cst. Harrison Mohr with Sunshine Coast RCMP says they would like to thank everyone who assisted in this complex search, which was made especially challenging by the isolated location and changing conditions.
