Drought Conditions Continue in Cowichan Valley

Don’t be fooled by the rain!
Drought conditions continue to plague the Cowichan Valley, depspite some recent rain. Manager Brian Dennison with the CVRD Water Management Division says precipitation was way below target for April and May, and the trend continues this month.
Dennison says residents should congratulate themselves as water consumption is down significantly compared to this time last year. He says it may have to do with weather conditions in recent weeks.
Despite the slightly cooler weather, the Cowichan Valley is still in Drought Level 3, and stage 2 watering restrictions remain in place.
