CTRA Celebrates 30 Today

UPDATE – Monday June 20th 2016
CTRA raised over $17,000 through donations and Ride-A-Thon fundraising, blowing past their goal of $15,000.
Original Post:
The Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association has been providing therapeutic riding and equine based services to the Cowichan Valley for three decades now – and they are celebrating their accomplishments in a big event this weekend.
Executive Director Anne Muir says CTRA has a long history – and it all started 30 years ago with a few volunteers and borrowed horses, led by Jane and Bob James.
The public is of course invited to join the association in their celebrations 2-4pm on Saturday at their location on Providence Farm. There will be fun family activities like a treasure hunt, face painting, a silent auction, plus demonstrations so you can see first hand the benefits of therapeutic riding. You can also catch lunch there -with hot dogs, birthday cake and their annual chili cook off.
