Lack of water supply and filtration hurting growth in North Cedar

The area of North Cedar is in the 6th year of a moratorium on development as a result of water issues.
Regional District of Nanaimo director, Alec McPherson says the region had until May 31st to put in a water filtration system as ordered by Island Health but missed the deadline for a 3rd time.
He says some new members have joined the board of the North Cedar Improvement District and hopefully they can get the community water system in compliance…..
McPherson says there are a number of developments on hold for the area which is quite desireable and new wells, a reservoir and treatment plant would go a long way to moving projects ahead.
