Protest over old maple tree at Island Savings Centre

Construction at the Island Savings Centre Parking lot was expected to begin today (Tue), and not everyone is happy about it.
A group of concerned citizens gathered around a tree in the parking lot, upset by the fact it will have to be removed.
Lindy Kennedy was at the protest this morning….
North Cowichan Mayor Jon Lefebure says the tree was identified as a danger tree by an arborist.
