Results are mixed from the first year after the B.C. government raised speed limits on 33 sections of rural highways.
Transportation Minister Todd Stone says serious collisions were up in 7 sections but cautioned the limited data is not yet very reliable.
He did say increased speed limits will continue in most areas, including the highway between Parksville and Campbell River.
On another note, Stone says some changes will be made along the TransCanada between Cowichan Bay and Nanaimo at the intersections in an effort to prevent accidents…..

Other top reasons for serious accidents include road conditions and not driving to road conditions.
