Nurse gets recognition

A long-time health nurse in Ladysmith and Chemainus is being recognized as the 2016 BC Health Care Hero.
Heather Dunne’s nursing career spanned over 5 decades, and included many accomplishments including increasing the role of Nurse Practitioners in Island Health. Dunne also brought the first Nurse Practitioner Clinic to the Stzuminus First Nations community.
Dunne was also a leader in the North Cowichan Primary Care Development Group, as they worked to improve care for older adults in the community.
