The family of 8, being sponsored by the Qualicum Refugee Sponsorship Group, is settling in to their new home.
They arrived in Vancouver late last week and were met with some members of the Sponsorship Group and an interpreter.
Carol Doering says the family has been out in the community a little already…..
Doering says now the family is learning about their new life, including flush toilets, microwaves, electric stoves, computers and showers.
The family, which includes 5 children, aged 4 to 14, had spent the last 20 years living in a refugee camp in Thailand.
