Grant to address senior isolation

Nanaimo has the fourth largest senior population in the country.
A 3 year program in Nanaimo is being funding by the federal government to the tune of 2 point zero 7 million dollars through a collective plan called Seniors Connect.
Jane Vinet, Seniors Connect Program Manager says the projects being funded aim to reduce the rate of senior isolation……
Some of the money will be used to open a new seniors wellness centre on Wallace Street in Nanaimo for those aged 55 and over.
