Sierra Club Calls for Conservation and Forest Management Plan

The Sierra Club of B-C is calling on the government to develop a comprehensive conservation and forest management plan for Vancouver Island and the coast.

Spokesperson Jens Wieting says between 2004 and 2015, 100-thousand hectares of old growth forest was logged.

He says the government needs to take a leadership role to help the industry make the transition to second growth logging…

Wieting says the future of coastal logging will require the industry to fully move to second growth logging and it makes sense for the government to help the industry make that move.
