New Long Term Care Beds Coming to Cowichan Valley

With a growing seniors population, Island Health is looking to add between 40 to 60 new long term beds in the Cowichan Valley. Island Health issued a Request for Proposals in efforts to find the right provider.
Executive Director of Residential Services Norm Peters says Island Health identified the Cowichan Valley as a priority community.
These additional beds are for people with complex care needs who can no longer live at home independently, including the frail and elderly, and those with dementia.
Construction is scheduled to start next year, with new beds opening early 2019.
