Waterfront homes in Cowichan Bay can now be rented for short terms on websites like Air BnB.
A group of stilt homes are now the only ones in the community where this is legal. CVRD Director Lori Iannidinardo says short term rentals will stay limited to these properties until more research is done.
Iannidinardo says affordable housing is at a critical point on Vancouver Island, and it’s visible when looking at nearby communities like Victoria and Duncan.
