Duncan Council to hear about a spike in police service calls

The City of Duncan has a packed council agenda tonight (Mon).
They will hear the latest quarterly RCMP report from Officer in Charge of the North Cowichan/Duncan R.C.M.P. Detachment.
Ray Carfantan says there has been a constant rise in calls for service over the past 4 years.
The report says police will have to look at their available resources and potentially consider a reduction in service standards.
Council will also wrestle with a report on the traffic corridor on Coronation Street between Ypres Street and Highway 1.
ICBC claim data shows between 2009 and 2013 there were 33 collisions along the corrider.
Council will also consider awarding a contract for another Citizen Satisfaction Survey at a cost of better than 8,900 dollars.
Also on the agenda is the consideration of a new three year lease between the City and the Jubiliee Gardens Society for the continued operation of a community garden at the north end of Centennial Park.
