Beekeepers have been dealing with a whole host of issues like mites, viruses, fungal diseases, and pesticides, and now Zombie bees can be added to that list.

The eggs hatch and the larvae attack a bee’s brain resulting in the bee becoming disoriented, hence the nickname, Zombie bee.
The parasite, which has not been well-researched, has been found in a group of bees in Nanaimo for the first time.
