The North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP detachment is dealing with a spike in calls for service.
The officer in charge of the detachment, Inspector Ray Carfantan says there’s been a 16 per cent jump and resources are stretched to the limit…..
He says a General Duty Staffing Assessment is underway that’s looking at what front line calls police are attending, where they occur and what the ideal resource levels should be.
That report should be available this fall.
