North Vancouver Island is one step closer to becoming a official Whale Heritage Site.
Mount Waddington Manager of Economic Development Pat English says auditors have been in Campbell River interviewing First Nations, the city, and other stakeholders to confirm the region is behind the initiative.
He adds after the report is finished, there will be a meeting in September to approve the application.
