Humpback spotted in Cowichan Bay

The Department of Oceans and Fisheries is asking people to keep an eye out for a small humpback whale in the Cowichan Bay area.
The DFO’s Paul Cottrell says there were reports the whale, first spotted on Saturday, was about 15 feet long and an animal that size should still be with its mother…..
Cottrell says the DFO had people in the area looking for the whale but it hasn’t been seen again.
If anyone sees the whale they are asked to call the Marine Mammal Incident Hotline.
