The sea water in the Strait of Georgia turned green last weekend.
Nicky Haigh, program director of the Harmful Algae Monitoring Program at VIU is confident that an algae bloom caused the sudden change.
Haigh says this is the first time that she’s witnessed such a significant bloom in the Straight of Georgia and but she says the Algae is harmless.
