A 25 year old man is in custody after issuing threats to harm his ex-wife.
Constable Gary O’Brien says around 8 Monday night RCMP learned about some threats the man was making to his ex-wife.
He says police located her and ensured her safety before heading over to the suspect’s home in central Nanaimo.
O’Brien says due to the nature of the messages sent, the belief the suspect was in possession of a firearm, and because there was another woman in the home, the ERT along with a crisis negotiator were called to assist….
The Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crime Unit and Domestic Violence Unit are still investigating the incident and charges have not yet been laid.
