Vulture Awareness Weekend

Vultures are the most endangered bird on the planet, and play an important role in cleaning up after us!
The Raptors are hosting a vulture awareness event this weekend, with silent auctions, bbq and vulture-themed demonstrations. Event Coordinator Katie Radcliffe says it’s a fun and educational family event.
Radcliffe says although vultures in the Cowichan Valley are increasing, a huge majority of the world’s populations are in a rapid decline.
The event goes all weekend from 11am to 4pm. Money raised will be donated to the Peregrine Fund’s vulture conservation program and the local Raptor Rescue Society.
