Summer enforcement by the local Crime Reduction Unit has come to an end. The team issued 240 tickets and 100 written warnings for speeding, no bike helmets, sidewalk infractions, and more.
One investigation of note was a call for service of shots fired on Cowichan Lake Road earlier this summer. Corporal Krista Hobday says they are still looking for any information on the incident.
Members of the Crime Reduction Unit patrolled the Duncan Downtown Music Festival, all of the bridges regardless of colour, The Trans Canada Trail, Waterwheel Park, the beaches, river walks, and green spaces, as well as the streets.
