VIU snags cash for aboriginal programming

Vancouver Island University has snagged some cash from the province that will be aimed aboriginal student learning.
Sharon Hobenshield, Director of Aboriginal Education and Engagement says the 600,000 dollars will be used at the grassroots level to encourage aboriginal students to sign up for VIU programs.
But, she says, it will also be used to develop new programs and enhance existing ones….
The money will be used in all three VIU campuses, at Cowichan, Nanaimo and Powell River.
