The Cowichan Valley Performing Arts Foundation have helped 13 kids participate in activities like irish dancing, ballet, acting and music lessons this fall.
President Olivia Boudreau says performing arts has such a positive impact on youth, but programs are generally underfunded across the province.
The local non-profit handed over $5600 in bursaries, after receiving requests adding up to more than $9300.
