Good samaritan ends up stabbed

Oceanside RCMP are looking for a suspect and a stolen truck following an incident early this (Wed) morning.

Mounties say around 4:20 a motorist stopped to help at the scene of a single vehicle accident about 2 kilometers north of the Qualicum Beach exit on the Island Highway.

But the driver, who stopped to help, ended up stabbed when the suspect stole his truck and fled from the scene.

Police are looking for the white 2015 Chevrolet Silverado with BC licence plates KA6895.

The truck has a fuel tank, aluminum headache rack, and the number “92” on the front driver’s side fender.

The suspect is described as a man, about 5’7 and possibly of Asian descent, wearing a white jacket, possibly with camouflage.

The victim is recovering.
