Money for water filtration in Ladysmith

Good news for the Town of Ladysmith and the Stz’uminus First Nation.
The federal government and the province have approved funding for a new water treatment filtration system for the communities.
The total price tag for the new system is over 10 million dollars with the federal government anteing up 5 point 3 million dollars, the province paying 3 and a half million dollars and the Town and First Nation paying the balance.
Mayor Aaron Stone says with a new waste water treatment system in place already and now this water filtration system there is some cost certainty for the community….
Stone says from a regional economic development perspective, in partnership with the Stz’uminus First Nation the area will have some great business development opportunities.
