Birds and Bushes at the Somenos Marsh Conservation Area

Anyone interested in leaning more about native birds and plants in our local wetland areas can join the Nature Conservancy of Canada at their weekend event on Sunday.
Event Coordinator and Conservation Biologist Todd Carnahan says it’s a great opportunity to learn about this sensitive eco-system and the designated Important Bird Area.
The Somenos Marsh Wildlife Society is also hosting a birding event as part of their Wildwings Festival, so there will be many experts along the boardwalk interpreting the site for all visitors.
The event takes place at the Somenos Marsh Open Air Classroom from 10 to 12:30pm on Sunday.
