Getting around this long weekend

ICBC is reminding drivers to be prepared if you’re planning on driving this Thanksgiving long weekend.
Spokesperson for ICBC Caroline Robinson says being prepared consist of making sure your vehicle is ready for the trip ahead.

Robinson says it’s also important to know your route ahead of time and check road conditions.
She adds last year during this long weekend, 80 people were injured with around 280 accidents on Vancouver Island alone, and that’s a statistic they don’t want repeated.

The busiest day of the long weekend for BC Ferries is expected to be Monday.  Ferries Spokesperson Deborah Marshall says they’ve added 70 extra sailings on top of the regular schedule.
