Firefighters across Canada are offering up some advice for Fire Prevention Week. (Oct 9th – Oct 15th)
Cody Robinson, Fire Prevention Officer with the Gibsons Fire Department says this year’s theme is “Don’t wait, check the date”.
Smoke alarms should be tested monthly and should be gently vacuumed as well.
Robinson says there needs be a working smoke alarm on every floor of a home, one outside of sleeping areas and one inside every sleeping room.
