Valley Residents Prepare For Storms

Cleaning out your gutters, emptying rain barrels and bringing in outdoor furniture and toys are a good way to start in preparing for the storms expected to hit the Island.
CVRD Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Sybille Sanderson says with the high winds and heavy rains, it’s important to prepare for power outages and flooding as well.
Environment Canada says rain can exceed 200 mm from tonight to Saturday in some parts of Vancouver Island, and winds may exceed 80 km/hr over exposed coastal areas.
