Carving a Connection in Cowichan

The City of Totems will add a new piece of history, in celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary and our community’s Coast Salish First Nations heritage.
Carving a Connection in Cowichan is a new project funded by the federal government, where Valley residents will have the opportunity to try their hand at carving, with a new pole taking shape throughout the year.
CAO for the City of Duncan, Peter de Verteuil shares the significance of this project.
The pole will travel to community events throughout the valley, and schools and community groups will be invited to take part in the project.
